Blue Lagoon is a reservoir that is formed from a nearby power plant, which pulls the geothermally-heated water out of the ground to generate heat. Many people have found the water to have healing properties for their skin, and whatever else may ail them, thanks to the rich mineral content in the water. The lagoon is almost entirely surrounded by hotels and various buildings, and it does get crowded, so reservations are requested.
